About 400 high net-worth individuals are expected to be at the ticketed event, each giving a minimum donation of Rs 20,000. It's the first time a political party is hosting a US-style fundraiser in India, with its share of critics.
"Around 75% of election funding now is not transparent; corruption starts there. What're doing is new. I hope others will follow us to raise money in a transparent manner,'' said V Balakrishnan, former member of the Infosys board and AAP candidate from Bangalore Central.

BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi on Tuesday questioned the Election Commission's objection to her party's events, NaMo tea party and Chai Pe Charcha. She said these are don't violate the code of conduct. "If EC thinks it's illegal, then AAP's fund-raiser dinner should also be banned," she said.

Arvind Kejriwal is expected to campaign for five to six days in the state, traversing between 600km and 800km. On March 15, he'll hold roadshows — Arvind at your doorstep — here. On March 16, he'll be at Chikkaballapur, Doddaballapur and Gauribidanur. The same afternoon, he'll address a public rally at Freedom Park in the city.
