One train every 2.5 minutes
Officials are hoping to up the frequency to one train every two minutes
30 seconds once footfalls reach six lakh passengers a day.
Elevated portion
Both the corridors of Phase-I of the project are partly elevated and
partly underground. The elevated portion is planned with construction of
piers mainly on the median of the road.
Diaphragm walls
For the underground stations, diaphragm walls and plunge columns need to
be built to ensure that soil does not collapse on the edges as the
excavation progresses. While the excavation is going on, slabs will be
built simultaneously.
There are three slabs for an underground station. The roof slab is at the level of the road. A few metres below is the concourse slab.
